Gantry cranes are used when heavy loads have to be moved horizontally and vertically. Their field of application is extremely diverse. VAHLE supplies the right solution for energy supply and positioning for every area.
Gantry cranes are mostly used outdoors, for example in ports, container handling areas, above large production facilities or in shipyards. In most cases, they move on two parallel rails.
They are mobile and, thanks to their design, can cross large spans and lift very heavy loads. As they are now mostly electrically driven and increasingly automatically controlled, they require robust and powerful systems for power supply and positioning.
VAHLE is the specialist for power supply, data communication and positioning of crane systems. Depending on the application, we offer a variety of different designs such as conductor rails, conductor and trailing cables or cable drums.

Open conductor systems consist of a T-shaped steel base covered with a copper profile. The high mechanical strength ensures safe and reliable contact with the current collector. They can withstand even the toughest conditions. These systems are particularly durable and economical.
The lightweight U15, U25 and U35 feature an open design that makes them particularly easy to maintain. Available in various conductor materials, they are also flexible and easy to install.
Due to their high wear resistance and resistance to acids, the U20 and U30 conductor systems are reliable power suppliers even in harsh environments and with complex as well as curved track layouts.
The KBH is a contact-protected enclosed conductor system for almost all applications in the small- to medium-power range (up to 200 A). It is a robust and inexpensive power supply, which is also easy to install.
The LSV | LSVG is a contact-protected, multi-pole (max. 11-pole) and very robust enclosed conductor system for almost all applications in the small- to medium-power range up to 300 A. Its extreme robustness predestines the LSV | LSVG for use in the harshest environmental conditions.
